Beautiful Blogger Award

I was messing around on the internet doing a little research for my blog and I discovered something awesome! Back on April 4th I was nominated for a blog award and didn’t even know it.  Omar at Amor’s Thoughts nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger Award.  I am thrilled to accept the award.  As you know I love being acknowledged by my peers and I really like attention.  This was a really nice surprise.

The Beautiful Blogger Award!

Here is what you need to do if you accept the Beautiful Blogger award:

1. Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog.

2. Share the love by passing the award along to seven other bloggers you adore.

3. Keep writing, inspiring, loving and living in joy and beauty!

Thank You!

Omar describes himself thusly, “I have an insatiable appetite for knowledge. Sometimes I wish I could know everything, but that would take the fun out of learning. Right?”  We actually have that in common, Omar.  I, too have an insatiable appetite for knowledge.  I just seemed to get through a lot of trial and error. (A LOT!)  Amor’s Thoughts is a culmination of interests.  He shares the wealth of knowledge he has acquired along with some humor, photography and his culinary adventures.  He is also pretty helpful in offering the some insight into the minds of men, something a single gal looking for a man who isn’t a total douchebag can appreciate.

So thank you Omar, for nominating me and for helping me make a little more sense of men.  I really appreciate you recognizing my blog.  It is super sweet of you.

And the nominees are…

Seven(ish) of the coolest chicks I have never met in real life but I am bound and determined that will all hang out and get into tons T-R-O-U-B-L-E! (and have blast doing it.)

Cakes McCain at Pasta for One

Jen at Sips of Jen and Tonic

Lauren at Viciously Sweet

Silly G at Three Months Until Forty

MC at Mystery Coach

Jeanna at Xanax or Running Shoes

Cdn Stormlover at Life in the Dash Lane

Kat at SnarkySnatch

(And yes I am awarding eight bloggers)

Congratulations to all the beautiful bloggers I mentioned.  If I could I would have a list three pages long of all the amazing bloggers I would love to hang out with and recognize because you are all beautiful bloggers to me.

The TMI Award Part Deux

The TMI Blog Award honors those blogs that discuss everything in detail and do it well. These bloggers aren’t afraid to discuss their most awkward, embarrassing and intimate experiences with honesty, humor and little to no filter.

The lovely and talented Lauren at Viciously Sweet and I put our heads together and decided that there was an award that was missing here in the blogsphere.  Where, oh where was the blog award that acknowledged the bravery and insanity required to share every messy detail of themselves with the good people of the interwebs?  Lauren was kind enough to use her talent to create this beautiful award and it is awesome.  So without further ado, I would like to present the rules and award to some of its first recipients. (Lauren and I are both handing out the awards.)

Here are the rules

Thank the person who presented you with the award.

Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.

Share an awkward, embarrassing and intimate story in 250 words or less.

Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.

Present the TMI Blog Award to 5 – 10 deserving blogs.

Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

And the award goes to…

Playing Catch-up

Over the past few weeks I have been nominated for some awards and now I have some time to thank everyone who nominated me and accept them.  I really feel so amazingly loved and full of love.  I was nominated for three awards.  I was given my second ABC Award of the year by Daphnée at An Evil Nymph’s Blog, The Very Inspiring Blogger Award by Karmic Diva and the HUG Award© by silentlyheardonce.

Each of these awards means a great deal to me, as do the bloggers who presented them.  I wholeheartedly thank all of you for nominating me for each of these awards.

The ABC Award

I love An Evil Nymph’s Blog.  Daphnée is a talented young writer who I found myself instantly drawn to after reading the tagline for her blog. “I think WAY too much.”  She and I have that in common and you can see it in the diverse topics explored in her posts.  She is intelligent, well-spoken and wise beyond her years.  I love her blog.  Thank you for this award, Daphnée!  I truly appreciate it.

The rules for the ABC Award are…

Thank the blogger who nominated you… Done

Share some things about you, but alphabetically, just a word or two starting with each letter of the alphabet.  I did this here.

There is no limit to how many fellow bloggers you pass this on to.  I am just going to nominate a few blogs because I am lazy and have several to get through.  And the winners are…

Life in the Dash Lane, Karmic Diva, My Ideal Woman and xoxoluvbb.

The Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Karmic Diva nominated me for this award (and I have never received one!)  Karmic Diva’s blog is a wonderful collection of posts that range from daily rants to wonderful poetry.  When I read some of her work concerning the dating world I feel like I could have written it myself.  She and I are on a similar kind of journey. I enjoy reading her work and rooting for her to find everything she wants.  Thank you KD!  Having you bestow me with this award means a lot.

These are the rules for this award:

Thank the person who nominated you. Done!

Share seven things about yourself.

  • I am most attracted to men with dark hair and light eyes.
  • I love Mexican food and anything with curry in it.
  • I can stay in a bath reading for hours.
  • Just about the only thing I can drink straight is tequila.
  • The last book I read was Hunger Games.
  • I had to stop one man from hitting another man today.  It had nothing to do with me but I hate seeing people being struck so I yelled until one man turned and walked away.  I have been anxious ever since.
  • I actually live in a nice neighborhood.

Pass the award to seven nominees.  The envelope please…

The Hope Unites Globally (HUG) Award©

I was nominated for this amazing award by silentlyheardonce.  This award was given to me by a woman who is an amazing contributor to the blogging community.  Her posts are informative, socially relevant and she puts a lot of thought and heart into everything she writes.  What she shares is amazing and somehow she still finds time to support so many other writers.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Although I am certain you deserved this award I feel more than a little humbled that you honored me with it as well.

You can find the rules for the Hug Award© here.

I would like to honor Aurora Morealist, The Wandering Mind, The Dribbling Pensioner and Totsymae with this award for their amazing contributions to not only the blogging world but surely to everyone they encounter.

I am so proud to count so many amazing writers as my friends.  I know I am constantly leaving someone out because there are so many amazingly gifted people who should be recognized.  Thank you all for your continued support and amazing work.

Thank You!

I know I have done this before but I don’t feel like I could ever do it enough.  It means so much to me that all of my readers and fellow bloggers take time out of their busy schedules to read my work.  I am so happy to have found my place among my fellow artists and writers.  Our support of each other’s work and continued involvement in our craft is important, not only each individual but to this wonderful writers’ world.

I have been so humbled and lifted up by the talent of the company I keep.  You all keep striving to do better.  You give the strength I need to continue to achieve my goals.  I do what I do because you have all embraced my writing in all of its often awkward openness.  And I am truly honored to know the work of so many men and women who open themselves up to the world with such bravery, honesty and beauty.

I mean it when I say I am lucky girl.  I have found a home. I’ve found a place where people understand me.  That is beautiful place to be.  My gratitude is immeasurable .

Much Love

The Narcissist

Just a Thought!

I have been thinking about creating a new blog award.  Can I do that?  Hmm… I think I will anyway.  I have to design something of course which means I have to pester Lauren (hint, hint.)  Yup I think! I am going to do it.  I think there needs to be an award that acknowledges those of us who like to overshare.

Is this a terrible idea?  I think not!  Let me know what ya think.  Okay? Okay!

Drum Roll Please…

I was nominated for two more awards (well actually it was three but I have already received one of the awards this year.)   I, being the glory hog and lover of accolades that I am, wanted to split the two awards up and do two separate posts about each award but the person who nominated me did such a great job of combining the rules for both that I decided to do a dual acceptance and keep the rules the way they were when they were awarded to me.

The lovely and talented , Janice at Aurora Morealist, nominated me for both the “One Lovely Blog” Award and the “Kreativ Blogger” Award.  I am really thrilled an honored to be continually recognized by my very talented peers.  Aurora Morealist is an amazing blog.  I love her writing because it is both humorous and honest.  It is fantastic to be acknowledged by such a talented writer.  You should definitely take some time to check out her blog.  I guarantee you’ll be hooked. Thanks Janice!

The rules are as follows:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Name your nominated blogs 10-15 is the standard number. Then notify them that you have done so.
  3. Share seven things about yourself.

So here goes…

Thank you again Janice. I love, love, love your blog and I am glad you like mine too.

And the blogs I nominate are… I wish I had a drum roll…

Misadventures in Cleveland Dating

Sharing seven things about me is getting harder to do!

  • When I am in a really good mood people typically tell me I am being mean.  I have pretty dark sense of humor.
  • I love cotton candy.
  • Most of friends won’t play movie trivia games with me because I always win.
  • I have had sex with more people this year than I did in the first seven years I was having sex.
  • I am an insomniac.
  • My son now refuses to meet any man I date because he assumes I am only attracted to douchebags thanks to the last two.
  • I have a drawer full of “date” panties.  All of my date panties still have the tags on them.  After I have pulled a tag off a pair for a date they go into everyday panty drawer and I wear them all the time.  When the “date” panty drawer starts getting low, I go to Victoria’s Secret and buy more.  So basically I wear a new pair of panties on every date.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! (And I Have Sooo Much To Be Thankful For)

I don’t have a steady job.  At some points this year I was so broke I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to survive.  I started the year heartbroken and afraid to try to find someone to share my life with.  I was second guessing my heart and found myself questioning my judgement.  I was locking myself away and shutting myself of from the world.  But with some help I have been able to move forward.  I have so much to be thankful for.

I can’t express how grateful I am for my friends.  I grew up in a broken home and friends are truly my family.  I am so thankful to you all.  I couldn’t ask for a better family and I love you all from the bottom of my heart.  I feel so loved and appreciated.  Thank you for not judging me and supporting me in my journey.  Hephzibah, Rochelle, Briana, Kathy, Teri and Suzanna have been especially supportive of me. You have listened to me ramble about my successes and my slip ups with open ears and hearts.  Thank you for never making me feel judged and supporting me no matter what.

I have to thank my son for being as tolerant as a son can be with a mother who never dated while he was growing up and then come home to find his mother had quite an active dating life.  You were a little uncomfortable and felt a little lonely but you were always supportive.  I love you so much and you will always be the  #1 man in my life.  You are my heart!

A special thanks to Joey.  I  can’t express how happy and blessed I am that you are in my life.  You are an amazing man.  You have made me feel excited about dating again.  I am so glad that we get to spend time together.  I hope have been an important part of your life too.

I am also blessed to have the readership and support for my blog and writing.  All my fellow bloggers make me feel important and supported.  Thank you all for your words of wisdom and encouragement.  My internet friends are as wonderful as the people I know at home.  I am proud to be in the company of so many amazing writers.  Thank you for sharing your talent and stories and embracing me as I do the same.

My heart is so full of love and appreciation for everything in my life.

Happy Thanksgiving!
