/ December 27, 2012I dunno.. I’ve cheated a lot because I was sexually greedy or sexually unsatisfied but never because I didn’t love the guy. I was with the guy because I loved him. When I didn’t love him I broke up with him. \
The idea that women don’t want sexual variety is such a ridiculous notion, right up there with women don’t like sex or women only have sex for love. This makes me crazy.. this idea that women are somehow a foreign species when it comes to sex. It’s part of the stigma and double standard!
I love the article. Such a good point that we womenfolk have sometimes blamed the wrong person, or at least given them some of the blame that belongs elsewhere. It’s so much easier to see some barely known vixen as an aggressor than to admit we loved a douche.

/ December 28, 2012Exactly! I absolutely believe you can love someone and sleep with others. I just think that is you are in a relationship and want monogamy that is an issue. If you choose to stay even though it hurts you you shouldn’t be getting angry at outside parties.

I don’t advocate cheating, and I’m not a cheater anymore.. I was just making my point that in the past I have been a cheater and not for the “reasons women cheat” offered above. It’s just a personal pet peeve.. this women are “special” when it comes to sex thing. It’s a kinda of benign sexism, like not wanting women in combat because we cherish them so damn much we need to hold them back from their dreams and promotions. Promoting ideas that women don’t actually like sex or don’t want variety like men, or only have sex for love and sweet reasons is hurtful to women. It keeps us thinking we’re assholes when we aren’t “feminine” about sex or our sexuality. It’s empowering to be able to say I love sex and it’s awesome. More women should be allowed to do this and less messages about how special and delicate women are about sex should be tolerated.
There.. soap box put away.
